ROBYNS & MARKEY, are YANNICK ROBYNS and SANDER MARKEY.
Yannick and Sander (both belgian rooted) have been sharing the decks now for almost ten years. These gangsters can’t imagine their lifes without electronic music or just music at all as they live it and breath it all the time. They have a massive record collection to be very proud off and all of those different kinds of music have inspired them and created them into what they are now: 2 major musical freaks with attitude.
Already at the age of 6 yannick was following music school and understanding notes. To pleasure his parents he played the classical flute, but deep inside he knew later he would be able to play and practise everything he desired.Sander was already in a punk-hardcore band at the age of 14 as a vocal performer and did this for the next 3 years. Although the band members were all quite young they managed to succeed warming up for some of the biggest bands in the scene of that time.
But then it was time for something new: Dj-ing. Yannick was already listening to electronic music and one fine magical night he and Sander went to the same party and everything melted together. At that time they were still living in Ostend but at the age of 17 they moved together to Ghent as there was a much bigger club scene and there they developed their DJ skills over the years. With former residencies in Club Tijuana, Suite 16 and Make Up Club and for party organisations as Organised music and more recently for Parallel and Wildfamily these youngsters sure have had fun the last years.
Playing in major clubs such as NOXX Club, Maria, Wilde Renate, Ritter Butzke, Cafe Danvers, Decadance Club, Milk Club, Larocca, H20, Mosa Club and the last 2 years ocasionally enjoying international bookings including Veneranda Club (Croatia) Das Schiff (Swiss) Hype Club (Austria) Saxophone club (Swiss) Sex and Candy (NY U.S.A.) Ofcorso (NL) and more. They have played with many of todays premium DJ´s and Producers including Reboot, Dyed Soundorom, Clive Henry, Nick Curly, Johnny D, Chris Tietjen, Miss Fitz, Justin Harris (Freaks), East Coast Boogiemen, tINI, Ryan Crosson, Catz N Dogz, Julien Chaptal, Boris Werner, Kouam Djoko, Demarkus Lewis, Eddie Richards, Jesse Rose, Nathan Coles, Honey Dijon, Fred Everything, Jens Bond, Oliver K, Mugwump and many more.
After all those years it was time for something new again,moving to Berlin and creating a Robyns and Markey sound. The first thing they knew was how important it is to find your own sound but that wasn’t a difficult mission as they had been mixing for almost a decade. They knew what they wanted: deep fat clubby music with a good groove that makes u wanna pump up the jam a little more..
